We began our hike at a pullout in-between a cattle guard and Lesueur Creek along the gravel Transalta road, a few km’s off the HWY 940 trunk. After being almost shot by random gunfire in the bush we headed up the ridge wearing a blaze orange shell.

I know I’m not selling this one well, but if you can brave the campers during hunting season this ridge is awesome.  A steep ascent, huge views of the front ranges north of the Bow Valley, Black Rock, The Ghost and Devil’s Head.  Moths abound in the dry fall forest, and windblown Douglas Fir dot the open western slopes.
