Sandy McNabb Hills (Sheep Region)

January 2017

Sandy McNabb Hills

Distance: 4 km round trip

Elevation gain: 100m

A perfect set of foothills perched above the sheep river.  Views of the waves of green beneath Bluerock, Junction and Shunga-la-she.  Cougar sign along with countless deer, elk and moose and a big cliff to eat lunch next to at the end.  All this and a perfect hiking day at the end of January.

We started at the pullout to the right of the group use site at Sandy McNabb, half way down the hill from the highway.

See the Daffern’s Kananaskis Country Trail Guide Vol 4 for the route info.
