A classic hike of the West Kootenays. Short enough to take newbies on, strenuous enough from the old timers who’ve climbed more peaks that you can imagine, and beautiful enough to wet the eye of the most seasoned mountaineer. Idaho peak won’t disappoint, just make sure someone else is driving up there.
Before we left we spend a drizzly morning in Sandon, peering in cracked windows in the town of Ghosts.
